Save Eccleshall is a grassroots community group formed by local residents who are deeply concerned about the wave of large-scale housing developments being proposed for our town and its surrounding countryside.
We believe in sustainable growth that respects local character, infrastructure, and the environment — but what is currently being planned risks permanently damaging the very things that make Eccleshall special.
In recent months, developers have submitted multiple speculative planning applications that, if approved, would increase the number of homes in Eccleshall by over one thousand. These are not small, considered additions to our community — they are major estates that would place enormous pressure on:
>Local schools and GP surgeries
>Road safety and traffic congestion
>Flood-prone areas and greenfield land
>The historic and rural character of Eccleshall itself

Many of these proposals are disconnected from genuine local need. They are profit-driven, poorly integrated, and completely out of scale with the town.

We are parents, grandparents, local business owners, long-time residents, and newcomers alike — all united by our love for Eccleshall and a shared belief that our town deserves better.
We are not against development. But we believe all planning decisions must be based on real evidence, respect for the environment, and the views of the community — not imposed by speculative developers without proper infrastructure, consultation, or long-term thinking.
