On 22 July 2025, our campaign reached a major milestone when Leigh Ingham MP brought Eccleshall’s challenges into the national spotlight during a Westminster Hall debate on Housing Provision in Stafford. In her much-noticed contribution, Leigh made clear that without an adopted local plan, communities like ours are dangerously exposed to speculative development. She drew direct attention to Eccleshall’s infrastructure crises — noting that the sewage treatment works had already failed 67 times in 2023 and 26 times so far in 2025, with the aim to reduce spillages to ten per year not expected until 2045. This parliamentary recognition validates the urgency of our campaign and underscores why locals must be heard when our town’s future is at stake.
